So just to be clear, you can do 3 52mm gauges in an S14 center dash vent just like the S13, correct? Do you need the dash vent assembly itself along with the gauges since its a more significant part of the dash in an S14? Thanks

Correct, I can do (3) 52mm or maybe even (3) 60mm for that matter in the vent area of the S14 trim piece. I would need you to send me a S14 center dash trim and the gauges. However, you don't need to send me YOUR piece. You could always go to a salvage yard and pick up another one to send me. That way yours stays intact and you are not without it while I do the fabrication.

Now your pushing it. I can check tomorrow as I have a customers S14 piece at that shop that I'm getting ready to do the exact same thing you want. My first inclination is no.

(3) 60mm not a problem.... (4) 52mm not going to happen comfortably, at least not in my opinion.

Is there any kind of setup you could do involving letting one or both of the outside gauges hang over the edges? I'm open to trimming the dash slightly. If not I understand and I'll stop cluttering up your thread lol. Thanks

What gauges are you wanting to do exactly, brand and model? That way I can look them up and what the exact outer dimension is. When they say 52mm gauge, that's the size of hole it mounts in. So the outer diameter is even bigger. Or if you already have them please measure the overall diameter for me.

I'm guessing they won't fit anywhere close to my standards. And there is no point in paying me hundreds of dollars to mold them in if they are going to look like a big mess.

Thanks,

Toby

Yeah you're right, I wont make you go to anymore trouble on my account, especially seeing as how there are still a couple things ahead of gauges on my project pecking order. I'm just exploring options more than anything. If you do want to go ahead and look into it just for fun, I'm planning on using Auto Meter ES series 52mm gauges.

btw when you gonna let go of that S15 lsd? :chuckle: haha have a good one man.

How much for an s14 cluster with 2; 3 3/8" Autometer gauges and with 2; 2 5/8" autometer gauges. Also with wet sanded plastic and oem turn signals?

Thanks, Jimmy

$200 if I can do the OEM turn signals. I have not incorporated OEM signals with an S14 yet though... only S13. So if it can be done $200, if not, then $145 and I would use aftermarket indicator lamps of your color choice for the turn signals.

If I could get any sort of turn signal indicator thats fine. The aftermarket indicator lamps would be fine with me. These look awesome and I'm short on time so looking forward to doing business in the future. What would you need from me besides the gauges?

I would need your gauges and the entire S14 cluster.

i was wondering if you could modify my a-pillar to have 3 gauge pod, because the autometer one does not make a 3 gauge pod and i would like it to be molded into my pillar instead of mounted with screws. and also i would like to modify my stereo plastic trim and delete the cig lighter and ash tray to fit 2 52mm gauges. what would you charge me to do this? email me at [email protected]

Ive been procrastinating asking this for a while, but on the S14, do you do a custom fab of that center console area, where the A/C and radio trim are? With a mounting system where the A/C vents go? Ive got one of your alpine units that Im pretty happy with in the radio, but now looking to get some gauges in the A/C vents, replacing a\c and radio trim.

Thanks in advance

I can make whatever you want.... I usually just refuse to do the work if the customer wants it half-a**'d or the customer wants something that I think is going to look aesthetically bad. I'll send you an email and we can discuss pricing... it won't be cheap, probably several hundred dollars to do both of those pieces.

It's funny you ask, I am completing an S14 shroud very soon for a customer... this is where I am at now. I basically need to do the finishing work: final sanding, texture, paint etc. You can also check my blog for some build info on it, however, I have not discussed the fabrication of the center section on my blog yet :

It totally depends on how you want the gauges mounted. The way they are in that piece is about as difficult as can be. I had to cut the original opening larger, which meant that I lost the OEM round over that led back to the vents. I rear mounted a base plate then reformed the entire round over. Everything was hand shaped and sanded. So to duplicate that with just the gauges is $300. If you simply want that area molded over solid and the gauges surface mounted, then $200. If you want that area molded over solid but with flush mounted gauges then $250. If you want that area molded over solid with angled gauges then we are back up to $300.

Here are some pics of the finished product:
