I've already searched, for this questions, but if its out there please dont burn me......anyway, I'm wondering whats the HP/TQ gains compared to the RS*r exhaust the ex-mag, also what does the BRM sound like w/o the resonator compared to the ex-mag as well? Thanx in advance

Also this is going to go on an s13, but I plan on swapping in an ka24de on it and i was wondering if it would be possible to transfer this to the new engine

Chek the sticky thread at the top of the forum...

RS*R is louder, a little more raspy - some like it, some don't.

S13 came with a KA engine, no change there.

The catback bolts to the cat, which bolts to the downpipe, so engine dosn't matter anyway.

I imagine they will sound different, unless the exhaust cam profile is identical.

Ok now since i dont really have to worry about the sound really since its confirmed that both give about the same sound but what about gains in power? Who gives more power? Rs*r or BRM? Or is that in the sticky thread? Lemme check and i'll b back to post if it is or not

well, depends what size... but i'm sure RS*R 3" vs BRM 3" would be pretty much the same... most exhausts that are the same size produce the same power, depends if it's mandrel bent or what... it's the sound of the exhaust that's different...

aight, thats cool thanks Irb, i looked through that thread and it said 7-11 rwhp gain so all i need is tha estimate power gain from rs*r the reason I ask is, as long as it dont give me a ricey sound(both rs*r and BRM say that ricey isnt their sound, so im happy with that), i want the one that will give me better power gain

sohc and dohc sound very different.

The sohc has a more labored sounding low end and pleasent middle tone, the dohc sounds more throaty and has a clearer, loud top note.

if the diamteter of pipes is the dame then power is virtually identical depending on the resonator and muffler and bends

it all comes down to restriction, so diameter wise, they are the same

Probably a good product, but there are three BIG problems:

"Mild Steel Mid Pipe and a Stainless Steel Rear Muffler" - why not make the entire thing out of SS?

"Quietest Catback on the Market" - Ummm, no. Not even close. Quieter than an Apex-i N1, but not "the quietest".

Lastly, their muffler is chambered, not a straight-through design. We use a resonator to keep sound down, they use a muffler. Big difference, and you can guess which flows better.

Dammit when am I going to have the money for a BRM system.

By the way greg, do you still make 2.5" dual tipped Aluminized exhausts for the S14?

i think if you want hp gains you should be looking at the ex mag gt2 instead of the ex mag. it's 60 dollars cheaper msrp pricing than the ex mag and look at the piping on that thing.

if you want hp i think you should look into aftermarket camshafts instead. but if you're looking for a sound then its your choice. i always suggest custom made. in california you can find muffler shops that do it for like 35-50 bucks piped from the cat back you bring in your own muffler. probably run you about 100$ and you'll still get decent gains if not the same or more. exhaust piping isn't rocket science so it doesn't need to be that perfect.

When my old exhaust broke right after the cat, I noticed a power gain. A pretty good one.

When I put the BRM on, I noticed no loss from that gain...

The sound: Awesome.The look: F'in greatThe quality: w00t !

If I was in the states, I'd get one anytime!

Being in Canada, duty, taxes and shipping raped me but I still don't regret it one bit !

All I need is a pipe man, no resonator, no muffler, lol

but BRM sounds like it's a good system. if only I wasn't heart set on getting an apex'i PS Revolution....

See man, NiCO has you set, go BRM!

Go BRM man, the sound is awsome nice and deep, and only loud when you want it to be Plus they come in dualtip and canister mufflers, and most people will agree dual tip mufflers look amazing on s13's.

Resonator is the ONLY way to manage sound without affecting flow - read explanation in more detail on first post of the BRM sticky.

AZ i might be doing the exhaust thing in the future but am hoping to stay quite as possible but I noticed you do offer the bigger resinator with the stainless... Just curious why...I live in socal so I should be fine with out it yes? the stock system has lasted 13 years So I dont think yours would rust out on me any time soon...

No one makes a bigger resonator in SS for me to purchase...

Definitely go for the aluminized with a 22" resonator then.
