Hey guys, Just wanted to throw up a thread on my newest Z32, Finally got my hands on a Twin Turbo! This one is a 1996 with 94k miles on it. Saved it from some guy that liked his late 90's tacoma better.
:werd:
Didn't know what he had, so I got a steal. It has its fair share of dents and dings. But I just wanted to bring Y'all up to speed on the Project. So it all started with a fluid change, Intake, and installing rear o2s. The guy before me put test pipes and dump pipes on it so it was running crazy rich. The timing was retarded to 11 degrees as well. It was also in safety mode because the knock sensor had gone hay wire. So I stole my knock sensor bypass of my 90 NA parts car. Then I got some o2s welded in. What it looked like then.Clear coat was in rough shape.

Then it was time for some upgrades. Got myself some BCRacing 8k/12k Coilovers with pillowball mounts. Got those installed over a week end. Then it was time for new steering rack bushings and MT90 Transmission oil. After a good bath and some wax this is what I had. Image

So I drove it like that about 5k miles. Then it was time for the next step. ordered new Adjustable Tension rods, and front and rear camber arms. Installed the tension rods, Still waiting on new wheels for the camber arms. then it was time for a Jspec Bumper! Had some front end damage I had to beat out. When all else fails, Get a bigger hammer! Replaced the fog light holder, yet again my parts car haha.

And this is what I got!

And for the Finale, I went ahead and decided I was going to try my hand at Plastidip. Sanded the flaking clear coat smooth. Sanded out some scratches, Came back with some Bondo filler on a dent and sanded it down. Primed the bare spots. And spent my whole saturday painting. Decided to go White to hide some of the flaws in the body work. And I wanted to get some black te37 replicas and knew they would look really good on white.(Getting the wheels this weekend!!!!)

And last but not least, Just got some custom 2.5 inch exhaust today. Now I'm having a blast in a car as old as me :)

Things coming next, Window tint,New Wheels and Tires. Then ECU upgrade, Possibly Nistune, And a boost controller.

Very nice!!!! I did some plasti dip on my 300zx and was very happy with the results (all the black you see except for the bra). That was nearly 2 years ago, and except for a few areas where it gets some wear it has held up really well.

I still haven't decided what to do about the full car yet, as the paint is "meh" but I'm not sure I want to invest in a quality paint job.

Anyway... great job! The car looks pretty sweet already.

thanks for the replies! A little update. I just got my rear upper control arms in today and will be installing them and the fronts and some bushings this weekend. Some more pics :) Got the new wheels with some 255/35/18 Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole position tires all the way around. Image

New wheels are on! Lowered about another inch. Aligned and driving sweet! I can now redline in first with no wheel spin. These tires have some grip!
