Time has come for the 60,000 mile service on my 2003. Anyone have a good idea what I can expect to pay and what "recommended" services I should say yes or no to? I haven't had major service on this car since I bought it, so I'm sure they'll want to rip me off as good as possible, but I have a feeling she needs it.

Hello,Here we go,Replace:Replace engine oil and filter Replace in-cabin microfilter Lubricate all locks/hinges Replace automatic transmission fluid Replace climate-controlled seat filters (M45/M35/Q45, if so equippedReplace differential oil Replace engine air filter Replace engine coolant/flush system Replace engine drive belts Replace radiator cap Replace wiper blades Rotate tires (except G35 Coupe, Sport) Optional: flush automatic transmission (flush with ATF)

Inspect:All lights Automatic transmission fluid 1 Axle & suspension parts Brake lines & cables Brake calipers, pads, rotors Brake light & cruise control switchesCruise control vacuum hoses Differential oil Exhaust system Front suspension ball joints Fuel lines / connections Fuel tank vapor vent system hoses Headlights / adjust if necessary Steering gear and linkage Steering linkage ball jointsIt is not going to be cheap. The transmission service is crucial. Some of these recommendations are for the premium, some schedule 1, some schedule 2. Infiniti service options based on driving conditions,etc...Hope this helps,M.L

This is right out of the maintenance schedule for the 60K service:

Oil / filter changeNew engine air filterNew In-cabin air filterCoolant replacementNew seat filters (if applicable)tire rotation

Inspection of:EVAP Vapor LinesFuel linesdrive beltsbrake lines / cablesbrake pads / rotorsAFT & differential oilSteering gear, linkage, axle & suspension partExhaust system

All of these things need to be done if they haven't been tended to in a while.

You can mitigate some of the cost by doing a few of the things mentioned above yourself such as the engine, in cabin air filter and seat filters which are easy to do.

Also, you're probably overdue for a throttle cleaning and calibration. If your ATF has never been changed, I would deffinately suggest it.

When I first got my car two years ago, I had the 15K mile service done (with synthetic oil) which is basically the same as above but without ATF or coolant change and it ran me about $450.

I know it seems expensive, but it will keep your car running properly and may save you in repair bills down the road.

I am going out on a limb to say do it all yourself....if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. I have to say that I could have done it all and saved quite a pretty penny! Sorry, but I paid 800 something and got a new serpentine belt at that time from a good ase cert. mechanic and still felt ripped!

Uftring Nissan here in Peoria wanted to charge me $600+. Also they said my K&N Filter needed to be replaced. And they said never use BG-44K. They have "better" stuff... twice the price.

Took the car to CarX (always loved those guys) $330 with tax, BG-44K and all filters.

Nissan couldn't honor my extended warranty. Is it true the Elite warranty is only good at Infiniti dealers?
