so my running lights work on both sides, but my bright is out on the right side where the battery is located. its a 91 hatch. replaced bulb, knew it wasn't a fuse but replaced it anyway and the right bright is still out? if anyone could help me out that'd be awesome.

It's the switch (turn signal/ high beam/ light switch). Get a new one from Nissan (or take a risk at the junk yard like me, lol) and swap it out.

yep, same thing happened to me, the switch can cause just one beam to not work on just one headlight, its a royal pain in the @ss, before you go out and buy a brand new one, just try taking the old one off, spraying it with some electronics cleaner and switching it through all of the positions rapidly, for good while, then pop it back in and see if it works, and good luck.

I am having this exact problem. Could you possibly give a walk through on how to take out the headlight switch so I can try and clean the connections you are referring to? I could try and go at it blindly, but that usually results in frustration and uneedless breaking of random components...

When I turn on the high beams one of the headlights work, and the other doesn't. Or the opposite works, or both or neither....

Thanks,

Richie
