2002 QX4 4x4 HID's

Hey guys, Can anyone tell me why my brights don't work? I have HID's and when I hit the brights I only get the blue dash indicator. Nothing else happens. Im guessing the high beams are not HID, but I could be wrong.

I thought I read something about the HID module being the culprit, but I cant find where I read it and I have no idea where the module would be.

Anyone had this problem before?

for the high beams to work, you need to have bi-xenon hid headlight bulbs, regular single beam bulbs will not work for the high beams, only low beam.

I just got the truck. I haven't looked at the bulbs, but I would guess it's not a blown bulb if both of them are out. I will check to see if the correct bulbs are installed.

oh okay, the previous owner might have gone the cheap way and used the single beam headlights, i don't use my high-beams because my hid's are bright enough on low beam, so i myself got the single low beam bulbs, the bi-xenon dual beams are more expensive though (i had them before), but they give you hi and low beam lights

Yes, absolutely check the bulbs first. I'm not sure what the exact type of bulb should be used is, so post whatever you find here and we'll figure it out from there.

:wtf2:
I have an 02 QX4 and the low and high beams are completely different bulbs. The low beams are HID bulbs thru the projector lens and the high beams are regular 12V bulbs in a reflector. If both high beams are out, first check the bulbs, and while you have them out, check to see if you have 12V in the sockets with the lights on. If there isn't 12V, check the wiring back to the relay. Unless you have some aftermarket HID setup, dual filament bulbs will not work in the HID socket and HID bulbs will not work in the 12V high beam socket. I know this because when I got my QX4 the low beams were much whiter than the high beams so I throughly investigated the setup and ended up replacing my high beams with Sylvania Silver Stars which are whiter colored than most incandescent bulbs.
