Are these the same as Blizaks? Are they decent tires? Good in snow? They just say Winter radials on the side.

17" 225/45R17 how would this size be on the Y33?

Are you talking about Winterforce? The grapevine tells me they're equally effective in snow and ice, but not so great when its dry.

What is negative about them when it's dry?

theyre probably pretty old... The only winter tire that bridgestone sells now (or within the last year or 2) is the blizzak.

Take offs on a 330i. Guy said they have barely been used. Like new condition on treads. Curious if they are rotted at all.

Bridgestone currently makes the Winterforce tires in addition to a couple versions of Blizzaks. The Winterforces are sold at retail usually just as "Winterforce", as their own generic brand.

The sidewalls are way too soft, but in the dead of winter they seem like an affordable alternative to being stuck in a ditch.

The load rating fot that size looks to be 91. I saw a few that were 94. that should be too low for a Y33. You should figure that a tire that's used on a 3200 lbs car wouldn't work on a 2 ton car.
