hey-I have a stock 1997 240SX, with the stock 5-spoke alloys, and i am looking for a tire, that i can use all year long. I live in New York, so snow is an issue, but i have Blizzaks for the rear only. So the tires will have to go up front in the winter, and on all fours during the summer. I was thinking about Potenza RE92's i know they came OE on alot of cars, including some nissans. any help would be great!thanks, bernie

Do you mean the RE92? And as far as those go, i'd stay away, they are really crappy in the snow/rain.

yeah, sorry, i did mean RE92, they come factory on my Subaru, and do ok, in the snow, but i'd have blizzaks on the back, i just want a tire, that will be good in the summer, and get me through the winter alive. I drive like a little wuss in the winter, so they might be ok.

Why are you mix-matching tires? Why not just get another pair of blizzak's and be a-ok? You can always switch to summer tires in the spring.

I had some on the 17 inch 2001 maxima rims that I put on my 97 maxima. They are horrible tires. I wouldn't trust them past half tread. I had horrible time hydroplaning with them and replaced them with a decent amount of tread left. They came OEM on a lot of vehicles including the maxima.

Worst tires in the rain. I have them on my car which I bought two weeks ago. I am right now in the process of chaning them.

Yeah, check out a Subaru forum. Those tires are legendary for their completely craptacular performance in wet conditions. I think many WRX owners consider new tires to be the first upgrade they do to their cars.

Post about the RE92s on NASIOC or something and just wait for the Subie guys to fly in to a rage.

Go with Bridgestone Potenza G009. Heck they are WAY better than the RE92's and cost $2 bucks cheaper too at Tire Rack http://www.tirerack.com

Bridgestone Turanza LS-V's. I've used them in dry, rain, and snow and they are excellent tires. I highly reccomend them.
