just installed my front brembo discs today from autopartswarehouse.com and the caliper will not fit over them with my new hawk pads (or even the stock brake pads)

Is this pretty common...?

Currently I have on the rotors that came on the car but they wont pass inspections because they are too small. Anybody know the model number for brembo discs that will actually fit a 1990 s13 hb?

You need to use a c clamp or a giant set of channel locks and use an old pad to press the piston in the caliper in so you can slide them over new rotors. Twist the brake cylinder cap open also to vent anything if the system needs it.

For the rear c clamps won't work, need to get yourself one of these http://images.superstreetonlin...n.jpg

Most any parts stores carry them.

sorry I should have specified.... The caliper does not fit even with the piston fully compressed.

I thought I had... 1990 240sx 4lug oem rotors... apparently not lol...

What makes me wonder is that the rotors that came on my car are obviously way too small (even to pass inspection). Could the reason they were this smaller size be to fit the caliper (maybe the caliper isnt stock)??

You might have got the ABS rotors which are 20mm instead of 18mm non-ABS rotors. Get a ruler and measure.
