I just replaced my Bremble brakes (pads and rotors) at 42,000 miles. The car is a 2004 coupe manuel transmmission. Is this normal? It seems like I should have gone a lot further on the original brakes...not to mention the cost!

If this is the first brake change, I say you are very fortunate. Hopefully you did the work yourself and didn't let the dealer bend you over the counter.

04's Brakes are awful.. I believe that's why they stopped using the Brembo's

What makes them so bad? Are the pads just soft? How bad do the rotors warp and are there better rotors inthe aftermarket out there that aren't retarded expensive?

I believe that they still use Brembos on the coupes, they are just branded Infiniti.

42K miles on original brakes means you drive like a Grandma. Congratulations!

They're actually VERY good brakes - for STOPPING. Which means they wear fast, make a big mess, and don't warp rotors.

No more Brembos on coupes, by the way. 03-04 6MT were the only ones to my knowledge.

You hit the jackpot.

Lana is a female name and she is 55. So most likely she is a grandma.

Lane sorry if I mistaken. I had a Lana friend back in highscool. She was from polland.

Again, I believe the brakes on the Coupe sport models are still manufactured by Brembo-they just say Infiniti.

Cost $1300. $1000 was for the brakes themselves....and only $250 for the labor (then tax..ha, ha).

Ha! I drive like a madwoman! But I downshift a lot. I wore out the tires at 20,000 miles!

I noticed your signature. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my only child July 22, 2006. She was born August 1, 2979. My heart goes out to you as there is nothing that will ever take away that pain. I was going to give her my infinity when I could afford a new one...she loved the car so much!

Do you know if any of the Sedans had Brembo brakes? I need to replace my rear pads and rotors on my '03 G35 Sedan and don't want to pay the dealer to do it, but I am having trouble getting parts. Some places tell me they can't get them because I have VDC (which I thought every G35 had) and other say they have to know if I have the Brembo calipers or not, but I have not idea. Is there a chance I have Brembos?

Thanks!

no you don't have them... They are bernt orange color and NO sedans came with them

Now i know someone that has them on a 05 sedan. When they recked and totaled their 04 coupe they kept the brakes lol

So you can swap them out fine!

Can I convince you all to fill out the Brake Poll?

At least those of you who have aftermarkets or recently replaced yours.

You can use the comments section to indicate how long the factory brakes lasted.

Thanks
