i purchased a set of cross drilled brembo brakes that are stock 240 size, now i need to know how difficult it is to install it myself.i've already replaced the brake pads myself so i know some basics of the braking system.

thank you!

p.s. thanks for the suspension info earlier, they're in and working fine!

just jack up the car safely, put it on stands, then take off the wheel. Remove the upper and lower 17mm bolts that hold on the caliper, slide the caliper off leaving nothing in front of the rotor. Then tap the rotor a couple times with a hammer and it should pop right off. Pull the old one off and put the new ones on. Simple as that, hope i helped, lemme know the difference in brake fade (if any) i plan on doing hte same setup. Also, you may want to change the pads, you're supposed to change them everytime you change rotors. Im going with axxis MM pads

thank you! The install was really as simple as that! but my bolt was striped and fell out when i was "test driving" (the usual rigirous runs around the block) just went to pep boys for some quick replacement. The rotors are great, less fade during hard braking and frequent brakes, and adds a cool look to my car.

Get ready for disappoitment.................

My Brembo rotors have a thousand miles on them and have fallen prey to the "rusty rotor" syndrome!!!! Nothing looks crappier than some slotted, cross-drilled, super cool Brembos covered in rust.

Does anyone know how to counteract this problem? I was thinking of scuffing and painting the "hat" portion (you know what I mean) with some high temp paint. Any other ideas?

Simple fix: Remove rust like popogto suggested. Use brake cleaner or something from the auto store. Tape off and cover up the rotor surface and leave the hat open to the air. Pick up some black or silver (or whatever) paint and after making sure its clean spray down the hat with a few coats. Never rust again.
