breather tube???

I looked at the sticky about the AIV and i was wonder what if any effect putting on my aftermarket air filter would have. I took out the stock box and put a cone filter on it and there was this little tube that now just roams freely in the engine bay. It looks to be a part of the AIV. What does this tube do? should i plug it or just leave it the way it is?

you have to cover the hose up or dirt will get in. the hose route air from the filter to the aiv.

dejavu, this was asked a few days back... answer= add a small breather filter & either use the existing hose/ get a shorter 3/4" heater hose ....and clamp it in place

the tube sucks in air to help the cat...blah blah blah...

Yeah I got an APC breather filter for like 10 bucks from autozone...it matched my filter. This one guy I know put toilet paper on it.

when i went with my sister to get her 240, the dude she bought it from used one of those dish scrubber as a filter... pretty smart dude.

anyone know where i can order a breather filter online? i cant seem to find one, is it something advanced auto parts would have? i dont know if there is an autozone by my school...

apc sells the small filters for about 11 bucks. you can find them in most any auto parts store that carries parts from apc. slip the peice of hose over the neck for the filter and clamp it down, works great!!

or just remove the aiv sistem its ez i just did it 3 days ago
