as mentioned I'm pretty searched out on this one but anyway

the exhaust cam cover-intake hose has this restrictor pill in it and before I had installed my catch can in between these two ends I've always noticed a run of oil in the hose if I did remove the hose fir whatever reason

now I have 5/8 line from rocker then to a 1/2 inch reducer coupler 1/2 line to the can and the 5/8 from can to intake I did not replace this restrictor and not a drop of oil and gas has moved thru these lines so without that restrictor is it in some way incorrectly venting blow by¿ I've been tearing s*** up highway pulls 14psi often and not a pop of the dipstick or nothing this is good as far as I know.. someone help please haha boost boy I'd really like to know what you have to say
I'm just still learning and don't Want my engine under the hoist again
and double topic but the euro ca guys all run the breather differently will copying their setup on a jdm motorset bring trouble or reduce effectiveness and why
.. any opinions here are most appreciated thanks all

this is my first question I've had to ask the forums since I've had the engine on a pallet and no experience with this s***, I've only spent my life reading thwm haha

If you're not blowing the dipstick out, you're fine.

Running the breather the same way as the euro guys is fine too, but you'd have to get their valve covers, as they're different than the JDM valve covers.

interesting

do you know what pill I'm referring to? seems the only reason it was there was to pressurize the sump and it makes me wonder why, I was expecting to see some gross catch can blowby by now

Yes, I do. It's there because the air flow when in boost is MUCH greater than when in vac. The "pill" is there to restrict flow into the turbo inlet so that it didn't suck oil through the separator built into the valve covers.

but now there's not a drop of oil moving through the baffles and outta the top end with more breathability so was it nissan who used the pill to compensate for the awkward /stupid balance tube under the intake plenum. sorry I just am curious haha its not rea) y important I guess
I just thought I'd have lots of junk to drain outta the can. maybe the intake side will need a installation this week lol

In a perfect world, you don't need a catch can. The issue is that most OEM systems don't separate all of the oil out of the PCV system and so ingest oil. If your combustion chamber is well sealed, and you're not getting much blowby, you don't get a lot of gas for the PCV system to deal with, and so there isn't much, if any, oil to deal with.

You have an engine that's in really good shape! Enjoy it! LOL

I love it more every day haha its insane that it would be ticking along so well as I've put 10k on it since it arrived with 13xxxxkm and has had the belt water pump done N I finished off the stock clutch she idles at 15-19 in/hg which I thought to be low but I know it's a strong engine N will stick to the ca18 for years to come
