Ok, so today I was gettin on the ramp to da interstate, goin to my friends house and I was in full boost in second at about 5000rpms. My rb20 starts blowing a cloud of smoke out the exhaust. so I pull over and smell it and its oil, so i pop my hood and there is a loarge amount of oil coming off the breather. So, I shut the car off for a few minutes and wait. Start it back up rev it a coulpe of times, and the smoke went away after like a minute....

Anyone know what the hell happened here?

btw turbo is a new garrett t3/t4 with about 600-700 miles on it. there is also a line restrcitor on it.

Do u have a breather filter or does the pcv line go back to the intake? sounds like u have blow by and it is squirting oil out ur breather filter, burning off on ur hot motor and exhaust. if u dont have a breather then u might want to check ur intake for oil. Does the car run like crap now? u may want to do a compression test if it does. let us know how it goes, this is exactly what happened to me, and i am replacing my motor...

is it a consistent thing or a one time deal? like did it happen that one time and go away, or have you just not tried to reproduce the problem? any other performance problems? how much boost?

I'd check for oil in the intake, and if none, I'd say its blow-by. they say the first weak point on these motors is the rings and lands. also try dry vs wet comp test, if there is a much of a variation, I'd bet on blow-by due to bad rings.
