Do I want to see this?Breast milk cheese? Have you seen this?
That made me chuckle.Dattebayo wrote:Why the hell is it that those idiots think a cow should get a condo with a view before we eat it?

Now I have guilt!OriginalWheelman wrote:Idiots keep posting things like this but they miss the real problem. In order to get all the milk we need we keep cows perma-pregnant, and keep them locked away to ensure lack of disease, then strap a mchine to them that sucks the milk our of their teet. Now, I'm not a woman, but I'm willing to bet that most women would not want to be treated that way. And unless we did ti like that, there is no way to supply enough milk.

Nah, the superbug will kill you faster.skydragoness wrote:Since it's ultra-pasteurized, full of antibiotics and growth hormones anyway; I'm guessing I'm probably healthier for not consuming it.
I'm so scared of hospitals for that one reason.IBCoupe wrote:Nah, the superbug will kill you faster.skydragoness wrote:Since it's ultra-pasteurized, full of antibiotics and growth hormones anyway; I'm guessing I'm probably healthier for not consuming it.
We're the only species that farms and keeps pets, so it would be hard for any other species to drink another milk. But Cats drink cow milk if you present them with the opportunity. But yes, you are correct, until cats can build dairy farms we're the only species that does it.skydragoness wrote:OriginalWheelman wrote:

What other animal consumes milk-product from an animal of another species? It is weird that we do.
Also, the deplorable conditions you describe is where conventional dairy comes from; milk from an Amish/family-run farm is more humane and there are parts of the year where you can't buy yogurt/milk because the cows/sheep/goats are feeding their young. Personally, I don't miss milk being that I can't digest it. Since it's ultra-pasteurized, full of antibiotics and growth hormones anyway; I'm guessing I'm probably healthier for not consuming it.
I'm talking about meeting demand. Milk form Amish / Family run farms is not sufficient to supply demand.OriginalWheelman wrote: In order to get all the milk we need
Doesnt appear Vegans endorsing human milk gave any thought at all to the COST involved in producing large quantities of human breast milk. Unlike cows, who work for free, have simple inexpensive diets, are easily herded, accept direction easily, and produce larger amounts of milk, you would need far more willing lactating women to create the same amount of milk, who must agree and adhere to a strict diet, who donate when they feel like it, and expect weekend/holidays off, and will expect to be paid well for all their efforts. I can't imagine there would be that many vegans willing to spend such a huge premium to just replace cow milk with human.Gorgomorgo wrote:One of my vegan friends posted this on my Facebook wall. It's...interesting. I'm not opposed to the idea of breast milk cheese so long as it's been tested, but REPLACING dairy milk with human milk? I don't know....
