Maybe its not working properly. I emailed my dealership Monday asking for an appointment to have the filters and fluid changed but they did not reply. I always change the transmission fluid and differential fluid before 30k miles. I'd do it myself but I'm anticipating a warranty transmission repair at around 50,000 miles and I want the maintance documented
Since I bought the car its chirped the tires going into second only in DS mode and only with the VDC turned off. Sometimes it completely breaks loose on the 1-2 shift like it did in the video and I have to back out of the throttle or drive sideways. It usually only breaks completely loose on smooth pavement, you know like the pavement in parking lots or the pavement right in front of the cross walk at an intersection.
My car also holds revs and shifts in DS mode. I said it felt like the torque converter was staying locked 99% of the time in DS mode but someone with "tech" in their user name told me that was not possible.
My Hemi Ram had a 2800 stall Billet Suncoast torque convert with upgraded bearing design 2.5:1 torque multiplication an organic clutch and hardened input shaft. It also had a Trans-go shift reprogrammer kit. I ran superchips hand held programmer with the shifts set at 6100 rpm at full throttle. I soldered a .05 ohm resister in the wire from the transmission to the ECU that told the transmission the line pressure was always 40lbs lower then it actually was. With all those transmission modifications my Ram just barely shifted as fast as the G35 does in DS mode.
Naturally the transmission lasted about 57,000 miles in the Ram and only about 7,000 miles with nitrous all my other modifications. But for those 7,000 miles I had a mid 12 second 5000 lb truck on the Nitrous and a low 14 second 5000 lb truck on the motor
