Mine's never cut loose like that in 2nd gear except when the tires are a little wet... Did anyone else notice that the temp gauge was a "C"? Do you always run your engine like that when the engine temp hasn't even warmed up yet????? I may have found a loophole in your oil consumption problem... correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always been told to never redline any engine until it is fully up to temperature, even then in moderation. Just my observation...

Yes, you are correct. I baby my cars until they get up to normal running temp.

On Monday they tared the asphalt in my neighborhood. Its dry but a little sticky like when my 2 year old spills juice but doesn't tell me for a day. I thought it might be good for traction and it was I break stalled till 2200 rpm and it hooked up but when it went into second the back end stepped out about 20 degrees it was SOOOOOO much fun.

And yes I am very very hard on my cars. This is why I only keep a car for 3-4 years and 60,000 miles. The Infiniti warranty is PERFECT for me LOL

I wonder if your transmission is working right. I don't know if it's supposed to be slamming into 2nd so hard. It should shift smooth enough to keep the tires from spinning. I dunno.

Maybe its not working properly. I emailed my dealership Monday asking for an appointment to have the filters and fluid changed but they did not reply. I always change the transmission fluid and differential fluid before 30k miles. I'd do it myself but I'm anticipating a warranty transmission repair at around 50,000 miles and I want the maintance documented

Since I bought the car its chirped the tires going into second only in DS mode and only with the VDC turned off. Sometimes it completely breaks loose on the 1-2 shift like it did in the video and I have to back out of the throttle or drive sideways. It usually only breaks completely loose on smooth pavement, you know like the pavement in parking lots or the pavement right in front of the cross walk at an intersection.

My car also holds revs and shifts in DS mode. I said it felt like the torque converter was staying locked 99% of the time in DS mode but someone with "tech" in their user name told me that was not possible.

My Hemi Ram had a 2800 stall Billet Suncoast torque convert with upgraded bearing design 2.5:1 torque multiplication an organic clutch and hardened input shaft. It also had a Trans-go shift reprogrammer kit. I ran superchips hand held programmer with the shifts set at 6100 rpm at full throttle. I soldered a .05 ohm resister in the wire from the transmission to the ECU that told the transmission the line pressure was always 40lbs lower then it actually was. With all those transmission modifications my Ram just barely shifted as fast as the G35 does in DS mode.

Naturally the transmission lasted about 57,000 miles in the Ram and only about 7,000 miles with nitrous all my other modifications. But for those 7,000 miles I had a mid 12 second 5000 lb truck on the Nitrous and a low 14 second 5000 lb truck on the motor

You're funny gwoods! I love it when people don't give a crap and just live life (within what the law allows of course). I'd love so see the mechanics face when they tear one of your vehicles down after a trade-in.

I'm the same way though when some things. I used to go through one rear tire or more a month back in my sportbike days. I actually found a place (it helped that a friend worked there) that hooked me up with a tire warranty.....and didn't care when I brought em in blown to get a new one once every few weeks! It was awesome lol! That R1 went through at least 15 tires haha! good times, good times.

Have a good weekend all!

As a sociopath what are these laws you speak of?

I scheduled a transmission service for Wednesday morning. Got to be ready to race this weekend!

When I traded the truck I fixed everything that I knew was wrong, I washed and waxed it, I even had a new windsheild installed and the transmission quick learned for the upgraded clutch volumes. Whoever bought it got a deal. I'd track em down and let them know but I don't want to get sued if something breaks and since I traded it to a dealership the dealership is on the line not me.

Below is an off the top of my head list of things I sold with the truck and what I paid for them.

Fresh oil/filter, tranmsission fluid/filters (16 quarts at $8 a quart) new hoses and antifreeze Suncoast Torque converter $1000New overdrive hub $200Suncoast clutches and steels $600powder coated PLM aluminum deep transmission pan $300Pace Setter long tube headers and dual 3" exhaust $1500Bed rug $300Snug top $1000New Hankook Ventus 295/45/18 tires $1000MKW 18x10 chrome wheels $22006.1 SRT-8 Hemi cam $100Manley top end $600Lakewood traction bars $100Fresh head gasket, piston, rod, rings ect Number 3 drivers sideFresh oil pan gasketFender Flares $200Mirrors and door handles painted to matchStock exhaust manifolds with 2.5" dual pipes and Flowmaster 50 series mufflers.Roll pan

So there is about $9,000 when new in aftermarket parts that I just let go with it. I sold about $3000 in mostly nitrous parts on ebay after the truck was gone.

This is why I am trying to keep the G stock.

After the dealer flushed and filled the transmission the car no longer breaking the tires loose on the 1-2 shift. It doesn't even chirp them anymore.

I can't help but wonder if my ECU had some upgraded shift algorithums installed OR if they reset it when they did the flush and fill and its in learn mode?

It feels like it lets up for the 1-2 shift now?

I hope your car is in the garage when you do that. Or perhaps you have a remotes start system. There's an alarming amount of cars stolen because keys are left in the car...

I wish I had remote start the dealer said it burns out the starter on 07's?

I start it in the garage with the door open the bumper is pretty much at the garage door. Then I hit the lock button.... on the 07's there is no key to start it just a button. With it locked I'd hear them breaking the window to get in and I'd be able to stop them. See my other post about protecting your stuff
