Later on there was drama (I wouldn't return many of her phone calls and I lost signal in the middle of a very important convo. She thought I hung up on her) and she changed her phone number. I was out of her life. Because of that she slept with another guy 3 weeks after me, said he never got off because she called him the wrong name and he up and left.

With that and the fact that all the sonograms were saying that the time of conception was just days after her and I last did it, I assumed it was mine.

Or she lied about it being a 3 week gap between banging you and the other dude, and lying about him blowing his load??

I mean, Maury Povich had made decent living out of this fact.

Stranger things have happened.....

PS. I bet it was a let-down for you looney..... I know what it's like to prepare for becoming a dad....I think you should speak to a doctor about it, cause i doubt that your mind is clear right now. Have a talk and get your feelings on the situation out.

but doesn't it seem like the "good girls" who make one mistake end up getting pregnant, but the "wh0res" can have unprotected sex with 5,475,214.5 people and not get pregnant!?!?!

It happened to this girl I went to high school with- in our junior year she got pregnant her 1st time having sex.

Because the 'good girls' come from conservative areas that teach abstinance-only education (which doesn't work), where as the people who grow up in more liberal areas learn what contraception is, and use it.

That was the case in Battle Creek. BC had the highest teen pregnacy rate in the State, and one of the highest in the nation, because the inner city school taught abstinance only education. They recently switched and the teen pregnancy rates have dropped a ton.

Well it wasn't that she was "getting back at me". I was out of her life at that point since she changed her number. Things just happend and she was caught unprepared with no condom...just like with me.

My work actually offers free counsuling. They feel mentally unstable workers are a liability and believe it's cheaper to pay for shrinks than it is to pay for lawsuits when they kill their coworkers.

I can't have just a passive roll in his life though. I'm already very protective over him and feel I need to be there for him. To sit back and be a shoulder to cry for the mom on is just not an option.

Looney, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I know very well how it is to be attached to a child (especially babies) and want to be there for them. However, I would be remiss if I did not tell you that there is a good possibility that you may still end up being "a should to cry on" as you put it. I promise you, I am not trying to sway your decision one way or the other, but it practically is impossible to deal with a child without some of the excess baggage that would come with the mother. Typically, mother and child are a package deal. If you become a large part of that child's life, by proxy, so will you be a part of the mom's. As she sees your efforts and care for something that is most precious to her, she will know that she can trust and count on you. What do you think that leads to? A go-to guy in a time of need. And it doesn't have to be financial or sexual, but emotional or, as you put it "a shoulder to cry on."

Aside from that, if the child is to be okay, mom has to be okay. Thus, it may require you to take on a role that you are not comfortable with to ensure that the lil shaver is well. If that is what you wish to do, that's fine. Just don't be mistaken about what roles you may or may not play. Clearly, you are a stand-up guy, and I (as well as everyone else, I'm certain) would hate to see bad things happen to a good guy.
