Breaking a spot weld on front frame

I need to replace the front frame "bar" that supports the radiator and the light brackets.I know how to weld, but i am unfamiliar on how to break the stock welds. Im not going to pay the $500 to replace this, so please help me save $250, at least. kthx

I would say grind it. Ive never done it on a car before though, but many other welds, ive just ground off.

How does one grind the weld? Just from the top or in between the sheets of metal? HELP i need to get started.

Most body shops drill out the weld with a 1/8" drill bit, them enlarge the hole with a "Christmas tree bit" until the weld is gone.
