Ok i know alot of people have been complaining of their breaks squeaking. Im at about 5000 mi now and i only just started to get it. For those of you that got this problem fixed, does the dealership just give you new breaks???? I dont want to go to the dealership for nothing if i dont have to. Im just wondering what they are doing for everyone who has had this problem??

thanks

(May be wrong) I believe this only applies to the 2.5ers first of all(dont know what you got). I was up at my dealership recently and they told me it doesnt apply to the 3.5, and told me no new brakes!

the a/c must come with some crap brakes,

as for wether they are going to put on new pads.. only if you pay for em, they will tell you its a wear item and that it is not covered,

my advice, take the caliper off and use some sandpaper to sand on the brake pads this should remove any hardened spots on the pads therefore removing the squeak,

unless you ride your brakes like there is no tomorrow, then your pads could be worn down to the wear indicator, meaning they need replaced, but i seriously doubt that

There are two Tech Service Bulletins out for Brakes. They are:

NTB00-033d ALL NISSAN MODELS; BRAKE NOISE-JUDDER-PEDAL FEEL DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR.pdf - Which applies to all Nissan vehicles.

And

NTB07-003c 2006 NISSAN MURANO, 2007 ALTIMA, ALTIMA HYBRID, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE- SQUEAK NOISE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED.pdf - Which applies to the 2006 Murano (Z50), 2007 Altima (L32), 2007 Altima Hybrid (L32 HV), and 2008 Altima Coupe (CL32)

Hope this helps.

well i def dont ride my breaks bc i got a 2.5 in manual. i rarely use em, well atleast less than if it was in automatic.

I also read in the manual if u use up the breaks within like 12000 mi they will replace em for free. I think that was the ammount but w/e. I guess i gotta go to the dealership b4 i go bk to school in 2 weeks

Ugh my brakes are just starting to squeak as well. So far it's only in the morning when I first start the car up and drive down the street. I hardly use my brakes and am hardly rollin on to 4,000mi. And when I was washing my car a few days ago I also noticed a bit of rust building up on the rotors.

Please keep us updated on what happens when you take it to the dealership!
