Recently, my brakes started going to crap, but it felt like every time I used them I was about to go into the rotors. I can't really describe it, but some of you may know what I'm talking about.

So I took it to the dealership for them to look at. The service sheet said that the brakes made noise in sliders, and that the brake pads were dry. They said they replaced the pads and lubricant.

The only problem is, it was fine for about two days, and they went to crap again.

Oh yeah, and wtf are 'sliders'?

Hmm I don't know either, but I do know that I'm not one to ride the brakes.

No answers for you unfortunately, but how many miles do you have on your coupe so far?

I just hit 6.8k, probably 6.6K when I took it to the dealer. Maybe they just said they did xyz and really just did x.

I hope upon return to the dealership and raising hell they fix it.

when i hit around 7k or so miles i started hearing my breaks squeel at decline stops (I park in a 6th floor parking garage daily for work) now I ehar it at any stop. I thought it was kinda weird since i havnt even hit 10k miles yet. now my pedal also feels really weak. havnt had time to take it in though. guess our breaks are weak from the factory.

Sliders are designed to allow the caliper to slide freely, back and forth, on the caliper bracket. They frequently become rusty and need to be cleaned or replaced. They it could cause the brakes to 'drag' and create unnecessary wear on the brake pads. Check these. They are little pins that go into a hole on the strut assembly and then slide into a hole on the top and bottom of the caliper.

I think the sliders are the metal things on the calipers where the brake pad slide on, they look like bent metal and their only purpose is to stop noise.
