What would cause my brake lights to stay on whenever I have the battery connected?

shorted brake switch would do it. it could also backfeed from another circuit. remove every fuse one by one untill the prob stops. it will stop when you remove brake lamp fuse, but you have to keep going till you find another. if that does not narrow it down, you have a prob in the brake lamp circuit.

Check the engine control fuse in the fuse box next to the battery. Im having a problem with mine burning out daily and the brake light comes on and stays on when It burns out.
