Ok I searched and mostly came up with people asking about which brakes fit what car blah blah blah.

I just put brand new cross drilled and slotted rotors with axxis pads and russell stainless lines on all four corners of my 95 240 and was wondering what the break in period is for such an install? I tired to do a couple of 30mph stops then I did a few 50mph stops but then this a$$ hole cut me off on my way home and I had to stop pretty fast, not too bad but enough that there was smoke coming from my right front rotor when I came to a coomplete stop or at least thats what it looked like sitting in the drivers seat. This is the first time I have done the brakes in close to 2 years and before all I did was change pads and turn the rotors.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

Run it. You can do it wrong, but pretty much it's a done deal. You don't want to make abs stops, but bring the car down from 50 to 15 a number of times will usually get the transfer you need.

when you're doing break-in, you don't want to come to a complete stop. This is where heat spots can occur.

At work we tell the Kommanplace People to allow 1000 miles for break-in. But this is the drivel to keep customers from coming back if they hear one squeak in the morning.

Just drive the thing normally. A little bit of smoke coming from brand new brakes is common.

Thanks guys, yeah my beast doesn't have ABS so no worries about that but just wondering what was the best method to break them in. I appreciate it, Viva Los Nico!

It's not whether your car has abs, but rather don't need to make abs-inducing type of stops....

You're welcome too!
