So, I get a call last week (Friday) from a friend of mine who works at a tire shop, and he tells me, "Dude. Got a set of brand new JIC J-Force 05, 18x9.5 +30 offset in Glittering Black. 50,000 yen for everything."

Talk about a deal falling right into your lap...

So, asked what I could get for trade on my old AVS's and he says his boss will give me at least 20,000 yen. Cool. I have 10,000 yen saved up. Just need to ask the wife to float me another 20,000 till July. She says yes. I make plans to go down there today (Thursday, April 1st) and get them put on.

They look nice on the Midnight Purple and are a bit wider than my old ones, but look so much better.

So, out of pocket, I paid 30,000 (just a little over $300) for a brand new set of wheels. WOOT!

nice wheels. what makes them 100000000000x hotter is that they're on a midnight purple r33. they would have sucked on any other car.

Nice deal! I have to admit I liked the old wheels better, though.

JIC Japan is going out of business IIRC, so J-forces can be had cheap a lot of places, but 50,000 yen is still the cheapest I've heard of.

Nice deal!

Nice Ozzie, I too am fond of the AVS', but I also know about growing tired of the same old look and needing to change it up... + wider is better

While I did like the AVS's, the color on them was fading badly, and they were really dirty. I wanted something a little more current in design. I like these and think they look hot on the Midnight Purple.

I can go a little lower to decrease some wheel gap, but I won't slam it. I had no problem passing sha-ken with my Laurel and it sat lower than my R does now.

I do need to get some spacers and new suspension as my stock struts are starting to look pretty bad. But, I need to start saving some money for that.

So what do all the people with really slammed cars do? Raise it up just for shaken, then drop it back down?

Depends on how low it is. If it's dragging a**, then they either raise it back up, or put the stock sus back on to pass Sha-ken. The limit is 9cm from the bottom of the catalytic converter to the ground. Any lower and it won't pass.

Please give me money to buy new suspension and spacers so I can go lower and be flush.
Please pleez pleeze.

GT-R parts are almost twice as expensive than the same thing for normal cars. It's redonkulus.
