Does anyone know where to get a brand new SR20det, never been ran, possibly with a warrinty. I feel nervous buying a used engine that im not 100% for sure if it will even run. Thanks for the help.

you probably won't find such a thing, but even if you do, the amount you'd be paying for it is probably greater than a rebuilt motor with performance in mind.

Why not get a no working SR, bore the cylinder walls, bigger pistons, forged rods, and all that good stuff?

as far as I know I have not heard of someone selling a rebuilt SR20DET... even if its rebuilt it wont be completely new and I doubt they will put a warranty on it.

Just get one from a reputable site that does leak test

I meant buy a non-running one and have a shop do the work

sure, it won't be completely new but you have the admit they will be MUCH, MUCH , MUCH stronger compared to stock motor.

If he has the moola to even dare to want to buy a brand new engine, the amount of money he's eventually going to spend is probably better off spent on the foundation of a strong motor.

you can do it at a local shop that offers warranty well like 30 day or something. they'll help you out and if anything goes bad you can go back to them and have them fix it hopefully for free or almost free.

if you're thinking about getting an sr. you're mostly going to beat on it hard otherwise what would be the point of swapping engines if there isn't performance in mind? leaving it stock would probably be better.

imagine changing to a brand new sr every 2 years or so?... used is fine atleast for me. a used sr block would runf rom 500-1k. just beat on it and when it's done just replace no big deal.

if youre nervous, go KA-T, then its your motor that you know runs, plus you can get more hp by doing so.

ill look into that, and if that doesnt work out i will probebly call up heavy throttle, they seem to have a good reputation around NICO. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with this company?

most places can compression check engines or start them for u so it doesnt matter really much . most jdm engines are still good and have barely been broken in. if you buy one and its bad, you will know it and you have the right to go strangle someone.
