Just got a 2009 g37xs yesterday and the low tire pressure indicator is already on. Is this normal (needs to calibrate) or should I contact the dealer? The tires seem fine to me..

Yes, it is normal especially if your tire pressure is at or below the limit for the light to come on. Chances are they were probably aired up to the appropriate level and the cold weather made it fluctuate just enough to trigger the light to come on.

Easy fix is to check the pressure and if they are low, air them up to whatever the recommendation is. It usually can be found on inside your doorjamb/under the center console lid. If the tire pressure isn't low, then I would contact your dealer to see if there is a bigger problem.

Checked the tire pressure, everything looked fine. Noticed there was a tire valve cap missing so I am going to drive up to the dealer tomorrow and have them take a look.

Welcome to NICO!!

Probably nothing to be concerned with...but it could be a nail in the tire. I'd fill all 4 tires, then if the TPS alarms again, check to see if it's from one tire. Then look close for a nail/screw in the tire. Since it's brand new, you should be able to have the dealership replace it for free.

What tirepressure did you read?

It is possible they prepered your car inside and the tempreture was higher and overnight it cooled down and pressure lowered. Since tire pressure can vary a lot from temperature. Try to keep it around 35 ish.

Anything close to 30 will trigger your tpms. Even if you are above that the morning cold could lower the pressure.

If the pressure is fine in all 4 corner than you might have a defective TPMS. It is possible.

When I get home from work I am going to take another reading. Either way, I will be taking it back to the dealer tomorrow to have them take a look and replace the missing tire valve.

Get yourself a good quality tire pressue gauge

http://www.nextag.com/best-tir...-html

Hess stations usually have free air pumps

I check my tires weekly and keep them around 38lbs when cold

Early morning temperatures can sometimes go close to zero so the tire pressure will drop. Even after adding air it can take 100 mi of driving before my light went off.

Hey Telco you have to go over 30mph for more than 5 minutes to clear the light. LOL You should start driving your car. LOL

One of my pressure sensors broke last year. The light would come on and off all the time. The dealer replaced the sensor and things have been fine since.

Definitely have the dealer check it out.
