Brand New G35X Owner - Have iPhone Connection Question

I am happy to say I am a proud new owner of an '08 G35X (after my TSX was totaled). I am looking to connect my iPhone, but want to mount the iPhone with a ProClipUSA mount next to the center dash console. To do that, I will need a longer cable or I believe more likely, add an extension to the included cable. I found a 2' extension cable, but cannot figure out how to run it out of the center armrest compartment to get to the mounted iPhone. My last resort is to just run it out the front of the door opening where this is a gap for running cables, but I was looking for a neater solution where the cable would come out through the bottom of the compartment and then out from underneath the right side to then come up to where the iPhone will be. Any ideas?

I remember somebdy took he center cosole off and drilled it. I can't recall who. I hope somebody will chime in and remember.

I just bought a 2008 G35x as well. I paired the phone with no problem, but I can't figure out how to play the ipod function through the ipod integration. Have you been able to do this?

I simply plugged the iPhone into the iPod cable that comes out of the armrest storage. Once I did that, it just came up on the dash screen from where you can control it.

Did you get the message on the iphone that you had connected to non iphone device and would not be able to make or receive calls? If so, how did you respond? Did it take any additional time once you plugged it in for it to come up on screen?

Yes, basically asking to go into Airplane Mode. Just answer no each time that comes up.

Sorry to be a pain, but does the Infiniti logo come up on your iphone screen or does it just show ipod accessory attached?

I purchased an extension cable (not easy to find) as I keep my iPhone in a ProClip holder attached to the center console. I wish there was a way to feed the iPod cable through the bottom of the armrest storage, but I cannot figure out a way to do so.
