I just installe a brand new Bosch fuel pump....car wouldnt start, the pump did not prime at all when the key was turned to the "on" position. I figured the FPCM was to blame, so I swapped the unit out and tried again. The fuel pump now primed and the car started.
Everyone says that the brand new pumps are supposed to be silent....well, I hear mine. I have the rear deck still off, and I am sure if I put it back on then it would muffle the sound a little....but the question is, HOW SILENT are new pumps supposed to be?
**EDIT**
I just checked the old FPCU that was in my car....saw the one pin burnt on the unit itself. The new one I put in has no burnt pins.
NOW, on the connector itself, that pin is a bit colored. The plastic isnt melted....but does this connector need to be changed or is it fine? My fuel pump runs and the car drives, havent noticed any funny business.....other than being able to hear the pump.
