Brand new clutch slipping?

I recently had a shop install a brand new Exedy clutch kit along with new master/slave about four days ago. The clutch was working fine the first two days until the 3rd day, it started slipping. I thought my car just had no traction because it was raining when it happened. Today, I drove my car for 30+ miles on the freeway, and my clutch started to slip really bad when I got stuck in traffic. My car would rev all the way to 5-6 grand in 1st gear and only go 10mph. Every gear pretty much slips and the clutch feelis like it doesn't want to disengage.

The shop warned me that if I bring my own clutch kit, they will only warranty the labor for 3 months. My question is, does it seem like the clutch disc is faulty or did the shop mess up on the install?

My clutch pedal still feels very stiff so the disc definitely isn't burnt. Clutch fluid resorvoir was fully when a technician checked it earlier, because my car wouldn't move in reverse to get it on the dyno (CA smog).

which Exedy did you get? if it's a cheap (OEM replacement type) don't expect it to always grab at 6K. i've taken my cheap-o Exedy clutch (brand new) to the track and had it slip under heavy load.

I put in an $80 dollar clutch kit from autozone and it grabs damn good. Although, I think the Koyo TB bearing that came w/ it is a hunk of crap.

I got the cheap oem replacement.

I wasn't trying to rev high at all. I just had to bring it up to 5-6k because my car wouldn't move otherwise. Weird, it stopped slipping after I turned my car off for like 20 mins. I think it only slips when I'm on a long trip or heavy stop & go traffic.

Could it be the disc? Like I said, it feels like the clutch wouldn't disengage when it's slipping, and I'm almost certain that the disc is getting burnt when it happens :( .

ok, i had the same exact problem when i installed a new clutch, it would drive fine until the car warmed up and then u would just rev high in low gears and not go no where. when i took it down to a clutch shop, they said there was still air in the clutch from it being installed. said it happens all the time, got a machine out and sucked they air out or wuteva and presto, 5 mins later it was fixed, he didnt even charge me for it. also, someone esle who had practically the same problem said they just needed to adjust the clutch at the pedal, he says it seemed there was too much pressure and the clutch would literally not engage the flywheel. so u might want to take the car back to the shop and ur nearest clutch shop and see what they say

Just the clutch, front crank seal was leaking (not anymore though), blown rear struts, needs serious alignment, just passed dyno smog but still needs registration, and the biggest problem of all, the car is making me go broke :D.

I'm just worried because all these minor problems are showing up and I start going to work in Hayward in January.

bleed the system and check the clutch pedal freeplay and engagement height. Also, does the pedal stiffness and engagement point change while you are driving?

The clutch pedal stayed stiff while the clutch was slipping. It runs okay now.. It tends to only slip after I drive the car for a while. I have 3 months warranty on the labor so I'll see what the shop will do for me tomorrow.

My 240's clutch pedal was on the floor (won't disengage to shift) one day and then the next would work just fine. Is this the same problem these guys are having or is my clutch shot?
