I was told with all brand new vehicles there should be a "break-in" period in which your vehicle must be driven in varying speeds, not to use cruise control and not to exceed certain rev limits in order for the pistons to be seated properly. In the 2014 Nissan Rogue manual (page 5-34) states that the break in period is up to 1,200 miles (2,000km)

The issue i have is that i've brought my new ride home with only 25km, and on the same day i've driven it for 400km to my cabin and back which is 2 hours away and i've reached speed limits of 120km and maintained speeds of 100km while using cruise control, all this while my new vehicle's engine hasn't even been broken-in yet.

My odometer is now at 1200km and i've noticed my vehicle sounds alot louder when its just idling, no matter how long i warm it up for. Would anyone know if this is happening cause its still in the process of the engine being broken-in and will it simply quite down when i reach the break-in period at 2000km?
