Hey guys...

I'm new here. My wife and I just bought our 2009 Nissan Versa.

We negotiated that the dealer would add an Ipod interface to the car. After my wife picked up the car I noticed that all they installed was a Clarion AUX jack.

I am not to happy about this as I asked if we would be able to control the ipod from the head unit and the salesman said yes.

Now he is claiming we need some kind of FM modulator to have the Ipod interface installed.

Is this true? Everything I have read online shows that the Ipod interface is a $270 opition on this car.

What do you gusy think?

BTW this forum looks like a great place for Nissan info. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,Jim

Welcome.

Get the service manager and the sales manager together with you , they should install the true ipod interface.

If its not worked out call Nissan corp.

Good Luck.

They installed a after market part to save some money and make a little more off of you. There are after market ipod interfaces that work through the wheel so they need to fix it

Thanks guys... I just want to make sure that I don't need anything special to install the Ipod interface. I am going to go to the dealer tomorrow and raise some hell if thats true.

BTW they agreed to split the charge of the Ipod interface ($300) so we paid $150 for an aux jack cable that comes out below the radio.

The funny thing is that the new owner of the Dealership introduced himself to us and gave us his card. He may be getting a call this weekend.

So the dealership owner is telling me that the Nissan Ipod interface does not work with the radio in my car.

Does anyone know if that is true?

Haven't looked into it, but maybe its only compatible with the SL radio and not the S.

Someone should know, I would have thought it would work on either.

I don't think it will work on the S radio. I believe it makes use of the port for the satellite radio, which the S doesn't have.

Correct.

So you should get your money back if you have an S, and call him again if you have an SL.

You need to replace your radio with something that controls the Ipod. It costs less and sounds better then any Nissan crap. Also replace the paper speakers. I think they were made with tortilla's or enchilada wraps or something.
