i was going down a steep canyon as fast as i could..braking hard before every turn...cuz my friend crashed his bike and i had to get to the other guys we went with to help him out...well i also wanted to see what my car could do in that canyon. when i got to where my friend was i tried pulling over the side of the road....i pressed the brakes and i noticed that i couldn't stop at all...i mean...i slowed down but i noticed i couldn't stop at all...i finally got to the point where i was going like 1mph so i turned off the car and put it into gear to stop. i guess my braking put a lot of stress on the brake pads and rotors? what do you guys think happened?

it's a really scary sight seeing someone crash on a bike...it gave me chills cuz i had to ride a bike back home because my friend messed up his right hand.

You probably boiled your brake fluid. Think about what happens when you push on a gas instead of a fluid. When was the last time you flushed out the brake system?

Yeah, I had the same problem during my first run at a real track. Cheap fluid and stock rotors are scary. Pushing the brake and not really slowing down at all.

I have since install some brembo Cd/Slot all the way around with ATE super blue, and ss lines, but still running the stock Autozone pads LOL. After the upgrade it was noticialbe better, but I know with better pads I will be able to finish with better times this time around.

Good luck with what ever you decide to go with.

welcome to brake fade =) why dont you grab some DOT-5.1 stuff and see if it helps any. Not much you can do since nissan equiped us with pretty pathetic brakes. 4 wheel disc is nice mind you.

i'll just upgrade to some brembo slotted, hawk hps, and stainless steel brake lines...then go back and see what happens.

I'd just go with a DOT 3/4 because there's a lot of options out there. DOT 5.1 may be hard to find and will cost more. Do a search for 'brake fluid'.Get some better pads that can handle the heat better and with some good BF you'll be alright.

Brake fade... blah... I hate it. You pushed your cars limit though it sounds like. Congrats. Don't push it more than you did though. Remember how it felt like next time, so you will be better prepared in the event you drive too hard again.
