The difference between them is basically is basically, as the name implies, that cross-drilled rotors have holes drilled in a cemicircular (hope thats the right word) pattern, while slotted rotors have slots in the rotors, and a rotor that has both is both cross-drilled and slotted. From what I hear, cross-drilled rotors are more prone to cracking. But both are just a means of helping to expel heat from the rotors. I have a set of cross-drilled and slotted rotors, given me no trouble so far. As for pads, I've never used carbon fiber pads, but I have a set of fully metallic pads, they produce a lot of dust, they're kind of noisy, take a while to heat up before they reach peak performance, and (just from personal experience) are sort of lousy in the rain, but if you can deal with all that, they perform pretty well, I guess it just depends on the brand and model of the pads are, I personally use Wilwood Matrix "d" compound pads. Brake lines do give a noticeable increase in pedal pressure, I didn't notice any more of that mushy feeling with brake lines, just don't expect them to knock your socks off, I guess. I just replace the ones on my 240 with a set of Earls SS lines, if you can spare the cash then by all means go for it. hope that helps.
