So whaddup guys, I figured after checking out the forums for the week that I'd finally register  .

Anyways, I'm buying my 1990 2+2 N/A in about 2 weeks and I'm super excited haha. One of the problems with the car right now is that the rotors need to be replaced. I was wondering if anybody here has had experience with this kit:

If anybody has some feedback that they could give me it's much appreciated!

Welcome to NICO!

I myself haven't had any experience with them.

Glad to be apart of Nico :D

Ahh, okay, I was hoping somebody would have had some experience but I can't think of CZP selling something that isn't exactly quality.

No experience with those brakes, but it looks like a reasonable deal vs dealer OEM pricing for basically stock replacements...maybe a touch of upgrade with the combination of fluid and pads and rotor drilling.

Yeah all I really want is OEM replacements. Are the stainless steel brake lines an added bonus or are they something that I could live without?

Also, slotted, drilled, blanks? I've been told that the previous two will just chew threw my brake pads. Any hands on experience with how they affect the Z?

My brake set up: eBay drilled and slotted rotors, new OEM brake pads, and Z1 SS brake lines

I couldn't tell a difference because I replace one part at a time but if you do it all at once I'm sure you'll notice difference

A heads up on replacing you brake line if you plan to get some SS line use a vise grip

i heard the SS brake lines are a nice upgrade and also the master cylinder brace is also a great upgrade for CHEEP. as far as pads i hear hawk pads are good and you also upgrade to the brembo 350z brakes.

SS lines eliminate flex under heavy braking. They're not necessary, but they're a nice upgrade. As well as slotted/cross drilled rotors, they won't eat your brakes. I had at least 60K miles on my slotted rotors on my N/A before I changed the pads, and they still had life left.

You should give these a look. I have them on my Z and they are a nice upgrade over oem brakes.

Agreed, excellent kit for the money.

Centric is a great brand. They make StopTech. I run the Posiquiet pads on my DD, and the StopTech StreetPerformance on my Z. Good stuff.

ATE Super Blue is exactly the same as ATE TYP200, except it has blue dye. Which is handy when bleeding the system, alternate between the two, note the color change and then you know you have all new fluid!

Kit the OP posted is good for what it is as a oem replacement with a small improvement over stock. As far as the SZ kit, at it's price point i feel there is better options out there to improve braking.

OP remember that you have a 90 NA, with the 26mm calipers in the front(unless you upgraded to the 30mm). Be sure to specify this because most "kits" are for the 30mm.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! :D

Yeah I've been meaning to ask about my calipers, because I've noticed most places have 2 listings for my brakes.

CZP has the option for a "1990 Non-Turbo" when buying the brakes so I was going to email them and see if they could provide me with the caliper size.

I've looked at a lot of the Specialty Z stuff as well, but most of it's out of my price range right now :x

Good to know that cross drilled rotors won't chew through my brakes like most people have told me they will.

The advantages are minimal for street driving, it's just for looks. Cross drilled rotors that is. Definitely be sure you get rotors for 26mm calipers. Or you can buy 30 mm calipers and swap them in. Rock Auto (and other places) offer rebuilt calipers for a decent price. Tough part would be your core charge and not sending back a 30mm caliper.

Z-Owned, there are bigger options available for that price, however, they're also heavier. For a tracked Z, there are not much better options at that price point.

I see no advantage when wanting a brake upgrade to stay stock size at that price point unless trying to fit under stock wheels at which point I would still opt for the wilwood kit for a couple hundred more. The weight savings of the 2pc in stock size verse braking power of larger sized kits doesn't warrant it the better option regardless of how much I like SZ.
