Ive been searching to a solution to this problem for months now.after replacing everything i can think of i still have terrible brakes.. Press the pedal and it sinks, but if you lift your foot and press again the brakes work amazing. The way ive been driving for the past 2 months is to double pump the pedal every time i slow sown or stop. Very dangerous

I originally thought i had air in my lines. Bled about 5 times. Realized my lsv was broken (the bracket connected to the spring was cracked off) and i completely didnt bleed it. Rebled 5 times after repairing the bracket and still no brakes. Thought it was definitely the master at this point. New master bench bled then bled at the lsv and wheels a few more times. Same problem. Maybe the last owner was dumb and put the calipers upside down? No, those are fine too. Booster should be good since if you pump twice the brakes work perfectly normal.. The way i bleed is lsv, rear pass, rear driver, front pass, front driver. 2 man method. Closing valve before lifting pedal

What am i doing wrong here... Please help. I am at a loss

Check the brake booster following BR-15 of the FSM.

Just to throw it out there, did you know we have a weird brake bleeding sequence.

Driver rear, passenger rear, driver front, passenger front.

Definetely bleed the brakes in that order if you havent.

Also sounds like you may have a sticking caliper possibly

Just noticed you posted your brake bleed order at the bottom of your post. That isnt the right order, and Ive seen a few posts of it giving guys problems.

I dont have the LSV on my car, but I would assume that would be first aswell, do a quick search to verify

For 1997 QX4s, the brake bleeding order is:

1. LSV air bleeder (Models equipped with LSV)
2. Left rear brake
3. Right rear brake
4. Left front brake
5. Right front brake
