i am planning on buying a new brake master cylinder soon and I'm trying to get mentally ready for how much it will cost me, does anyone know how much brake fluid i will have to buy to completely fill my brake fluid reservoir? im not sure if this is a stupid question, but if it is, just humor me. haha

brake fluid would be $4-7 depending on the brand. And if you shop around you can get a brake master for stupid cheap. Do the research.

I like dot4 or higher. 1 larger bottle should do you for a while.

Bleed rear driver (actually the furthest away), rear passenger, front passenger, front driver. Bench bleed the BMC first.

technically its
1. the rear drivers side first (the piping is longer under the car)
2. rear passenger
3. front passenger
4. drivers side

Not according to the FSM it isn't. Switch one and two.

according to physics and measuring tools and life, the D/S rear is the longest. The rear line runs across the back of the firewall, down the framerail on the passenger side, and splits to the rear. For this to system to work, the line for the drivers side rear caliper must be longer than the line for the passenger side. It has to reach across the body to get to the caliper. There are errors in the FSM sometimes. :yesnod

:orly:

Why don't you take it apart and measure it then. Or have you already? I mean far be it for be to question... how did you say it again? "physics and measuring tools and real life"? :rotflmao:

no need to measure it...if the split is on the passenger side, the line to the passenger side caliper is shorter.

LOL. Yeah I guess thats a good point..and true. I never really thought about that. But It's a small difference I guess and it wont matter which side first in that case, as long as u bleed rear first => pass. front => driver front.

Bench bleeding is very important and highly recommended that you use a vise cuz its a giant B if you don't.

Always bleed from the furthest.... and drivers rear on a USDM model is the furthest because the single line goes across the fire wall, follows the passenger rail, then splits to the passenger rear line, and over the the drivers side. DS rear is about 3 foot lonnger then the PS.

Just take longer, more bleeding required.
