Ok, when I bought my J30t several months ago, the brakes were squeaking. I was told by the guy I bought if from that it was because the brakes were new. 4 months later, they're still squeaking, so I go have them checked. Apparently, the brake pads were cheap and the rotors were shot. So, I replaced the pads and rotors. It's been almost a month now and although the squeaking isn't near as bad as before the replacement, the brakes are still squeaking. Any idea what could be causing this to happen? Thanks...

Phil

Most brake pad sets come with anti vibration shims. If yours didn't have any you can use some stuff from auto zone, etc. It's a gooey stuff you put on the back of the pads and it helps to keep them from squeeling so much.

And, put a chamfer on the leading and trailing edges of the pads.

So you're telling me I gotta take my car to an Infiniti dealer when I need to repair/replace something? I got the brake job done at Big-O Tires. I'm guessing they didn't use OEM?

Welcome to the thin-air world of owning a Personal Luxury Sedan. This ain't no Altima, buster. Wait'll you price shocks, and find out why they call them that.Quote » I got the brake job done at Big-O Tires. I'm guessing they didn't use OEM? [/quote]Welp, are they squeaking? There ya go.

OEM brake pads work best on the J30 or high end metallized ceramics if you can find a J fitament(they cost around Nissan OEM or more). Anything else is crap.

The only rotors that don't warp on the J30 are Nissan OEM and some more expensive specialized rotors(i.e Powerstop).

Welcome to J ownership. You gotta "pay to play".

Thanks, Apu. You guys are funny. The guy that ran the repair shop said he loves his J30t, but says that the most impressive car he's driven (and he's driven some nice cars) is the G35 sedan (my dream car the last few years). I'll remember OEM from now on. Now...to get my driver's side door open...
