So my latest issue is after ~5 minutes of normal city driving, my brakes sound like the ABS is engaging at any speed under normal braking. Almost a metal on metal grind sound.

Before I consider replacing brakes, anything you guys would consider to look at? Stumped on this one until I get under there.

If what you are hearing is a metal grinding noise it most likely is your brake pads have worn down to nothing and is scraping the rotor, or if the sound is coming from the rear, the brake shoes are worn down to nothing and are scraping the drum.

Only way to know for sure is to take off the wheels and take a look.

Finally looked while swapping my 17s with new 15" wheels. Sound is gone now and nothing strange seen.
Not sure what was happening.

I've gotten a small rock between the rotor and dust shield - makes a racket.

Also, had a wretched screaming from the brakes on my MSM... noticed a huge groove in one of my drilled/slotted rotors.

Pulled the caliper and pads, and there was part of a screw embedded in the pad, almost as if it was cast into the pad material. So weird.
