Sticky caliper, wrong pads, or a cheap pad that's too thick, and make sure the rotor is on correct and no bound by a lug thread that causing pad pressure.

I would take the pads off, and recheck everything and make sure that caliper piston isn't ceased, then reinstall, lube slides, and bleed.

That happened to me as well, my mechanic said it's just a coating on the new brake pad that will wear off in your first drive. It did for me anyway.

When I first put my Z32 brakes on with new pads and rotors they smoked and stunk like crazy, after a few drives it'll go away. After which you should take it all apart and clean the rotors and pads with sand paper and brake cleaner. Scuff sand the rotors and pads to get the crap off and spray them down, re-install and enjoy!

From what ive noticed they all do that for the first few times you brake, especially hard braking(which isnt good). It will go away after a couple times.

might be the calipers.my s14 did that.

i took em on and off to inspect about 4 times.

then i realized my old passenger pads had a lot more meat than the driver side.

i was like FML!!!

i hate investing in rear calipers.

Doubtful its the wrong part....

As long as the calipers pressed in easily....then:Did you clean the rotors off before you put them on? And once when you were done?

Chances are you just got oil/grease on them from your hands and its burning off. Happens to me almost every time I do it. It's not a big thing...

Yo, look up on google how to properly break in your brake pads and follow the directions. You should do this every time you change pads.

It's something like:60mph to 10mph quick stops x 5 (Or until you can smell the pad and see smoke)Drive normally and moderately brake for another 10-20 minutes to progressively cooldown rotors and pads.

*Warning* Do this in a safe place, empty road or something, because you will experience brake fade when they smoke and get really hot. In other words don't crash into a tree because you can't stop quick for another 5 minutes while doing this...

if you pulled your e-brake after the new brakes were on maybe the cable stayed in the locked position..thats what happened to my car...(but it was back right)
