Brakes seized

my right rear caliper has locked, and now according to the mechanic i need a new pair of calipers, im looking at about $300+ for all this. These are aftermarket calipers not stocks. I know that they can be rebuilt, but the mechanic said its illegal and not safe. i know someone who will do it, but is there a chance they cant be rebuilt?Plz answer ASAPThanks in advance

If just your right rear locked up then why would you need 2 new calipers. I also never heard of rebuilding calipers illegal. It sound like hes trying to rip you off to me. If you cant rebuild them then go to a junkyard and buy one. Or if you have a abs s13 then ill sell you one cheap.
