Hi guys its that time for me to swap the brakes and rotors.

I been using the Akebono Pads/OEM Rotors - thought i might change it up with the rotors and keep the Akebonos.

Anyone else have any other combination they use they like? I've seen alot of people been using the BrakeMotive from ebay, but wanted to check if anyone else had anything else to say

I've used the brakemotive set in the past but for my recent rotor change I went with StopTech cross drilled/slotted rotors (cryo treated) -- for the fronts...the rears are still the brakemotive pair, but will change to the StopTech when it's time. I'm also running the Akebono ProAct pads...both combinations work really well...no complaints. Here's a pix of the StopTech's...it comes with painted rotor hats (black) and the cryo treatment is an additional bonus :bigthumb:

As recommended by many others on the forums, I picked up the Brakemotive full set for Fronts & Rears. I put them on over the long weekend. Bedded them as per the instructions (40mph-10mph/aggressive braking x 5times + 35mph-5mph/moderate braking x 5 times) and am very happy with the results so far.

I just bought the car a week ago, so don't have much to compare it to unfortunately. The old rotors which were on the car when I bought it were warped, so I'd get the classic steering wheel shake when I would brake. I will update with pictures soon.

I got the new rotors in March/April of this year...I don't recall the exact price, but I believe I paid approx $70-$80 per rotor....I get a lot of my parts and work done at a local wheel/tire shop that I've been going to for 15+ years.... I don't regret paying a little more for these rotors...they are still holding up really good.

I am leaning towards the brakemotive right now since the price is great for what it is, but anyone else have good reviews? I know our OEM rotors are s*** compared to most. I also saw on FCP Import they have Brembo rotors for direct replacements for 28 bucks a pop, but they are not cross drilled nor slotted. Just regular rotors. Anyone have any results with the Brembos?

Week 2. I still love them. Last night, the car in front of me decided to come to a complete stop to make a upcoming left. I was very happy with the braking performance. Couldn't recommend the original pair I bought the vehicle with.

About 8 months and over 10K miles. No problems.

Almost 2 years and 25k miles--just starting to get a little rust near the hat, prolly time to change them....but waaaay less rust than the OEM rotors, those things looked like something you might find at a junkyard.

It all depends on where you live and wether you garage your car.
I live in NJ so snow sand salt rain, plus I dont have the luxury to garage my car and in my case the hats were already rusted at 3 months looking ugly. They are cheap rotors and that zinc plating is probably done at the lowest cost. But they get the job done.

So, I didn't change where I live and the car has been garaged the whole time I've owned it (used at 41k) the previous owner also lived in Texas, but the OEM rotors seemed to have rusted waaay quicker compared to the Brakemotive kit.

Agree, prolly not the highest quality product, but for what you pay they look pretty good to me.

On another Infiniti M forum I'm a member of, there is a pretty good DIY section that has brakes.
Although, I didn't have those instructions when I got my friend to show me how to do it the first time.

The process is pretty much the same for all cars with disk brakes. I don't think the M is too tricky.
May want to google/you tube it, cuz I'm sure there are some videos that do a step by step on some Infiniti's,
maybe not the M, but their prolly all very similar.
