Hi All,

Buddy of mine asked me to help him with removing his BBK and installing OEM rotors, pads and calipers. Now there is no brakes. When you push foot pedal your foot goes right in. Unless you pump the pedal few times then you get some brakes, but only some. Is there anything you need to do like bleed system, etc ? Do you need to maybe reset ABS system or did Master Cylinder go bad ? I really need help. Thank u a lot !

Whenever you disconnect a calliper you introduce air into the system. From what you are describing it sounds like you didn't bleed each calliper after installation. You can get a one man bleeder kit which is just a sealed container with a magnet and hose. Attach it to each callipers bleeder valve. Open up the valve by unscrewing it then add brake fluid (check the recommended dot level prior to adding) and as you top up the brake reservoir pump the brakes with the car off. Do this to each calliper until there are no more bubbles coming out of the hose. I suggest a second person who can pump the brakes as you watch. What may be easier is if you watch for the fluid clarity difference between the old and new coming out as well. Then tighten the bleeder screw, cap the reservoir and move on to the next caliper. Do this as quickly as possible because brake fluid attracts moisture and that's bad since it lowers the fluids boiling point causing major brake fade. Now that this topics been beaten to death can I ask why anyone would want to remove their BBK?!?

Thanks for this. I will look into getting Power Bleeder that I read about. Also his car is being traded in.
