New to your site....with my new 08 M35X.I really didn't want the AWD (heavier, slower, more gas, more $), but here in New Jersey, that's all that's offered (except for Sport, & not many of them). So far (<1000 miles) we love it. White with Tan with Nav and AFS lights.Looking down the line. How long do the standard brake pads last? Do rear wear faster than front? Are the OEM brake pads Ceramic (my 04 Murano has ceramic pads standard) or other?Car came with standard Goodyear tires with a tire rating of 280. Any comments on how long these tires will last? Any one have any issues that I should seriously watch for?

Thanks all!Pinspector

Hello,Welcome to NICO. Congrats on your new car. I would recommend checking out the tire thread here on NICO which offers a trove of user experiences. That being said, there does not seem to be much love for the OEM Goodyear's around here. I am sure some fellow M35X owners will chime in soon. A tread rating of 280 is pretty low.

There are so many variables in brake and tire longevity beginning with driving style, climate, etc.. that I find it hard to set a standard time. I was not aware that Murano's had ceramic brakes OEM. Shocked actually. These cars have proven to be quite durable since introduced in 2005. By now, most things have been ironed out. Oil consumption has been an issue with some motors. Break in seems to be critical. Cheers,ML

OEM Pads should last 25k to 30k miles (depending on how much highway driving you do). I seem to be changing mine about at that rate ... with about 40% highway driving now.

Rotors should last about 60k to 75k miles (or about 2 to 3 sets of pads) - I am at 67k miles on my original set with one resurface so far. But, this will also depend on a number of other factors! Such as what kind of pads you have, your braking habits, if they are resurfaced, etc.

Tires ... if you have the Goodyear RS-A, we recommend changing it. Most good Summer tires will last about 20k miles or so. Some of the Touring and other tires may go longer. Regardless of which, no tire should be used for more than 5 years from the date of manufacture listed on the sidewall - no matter how much tread is left.
