I am having issues with my brakes. Ever since I bought them and installed them, they are making the worn out noise that occurs when the pads are low and need to be replaced. It is very embarassing. These pads are about 6 - 8 months old and have been doing this since I installed them.

Has anyone gone through this? Any advise?

thanks.

What kind of pads did you install. Did you use anti-squeal and re grease?

I got the stock pads. I had the pads installed by my mechanic; I am not sure if he used any substance to prevent the pads from squealing.

Is there something I can do now without having to take them apart again and apply the substances?

They make a spray, but its a 50/50 shot. Probably just easier to take them off and apply the anti squeal to the back of the pads and grease the shims.

Also make sure you bed the pads and produce a transfer layer on the rotors. Hopefully, it will still take up. Its possible you may need to turn the rotors to get it to bed properly, but you can certainly try and bed it without turning it first...

This might help with the noise issue.

I have never worked on brakes before so I would not know how to take them apart to apply the grease. Perhaps I can get that spray you are talking about. Do you know its name and where I can find it?
