Brakes locking

The other day I was driving my 2005 pathfinder when I felt likei was driving on flat tires, no matter how much gas I gave it the slower I got, when I pulled over I could smell the brakes burning the brake peddal. Was too tight to press any more and the truck was locked up , after a hour of sitting there I got bored and was moving my foot around the brake peddle and put my foot behind it pulling it the other way when all of a sudden the truck released ! And it
Made it home . Anybody had that problem ?
