Brakes locked!

Stock brake system on my 89 240sx XE Coupe.

It locked on me this afternoon going to work I started braking gradually and not hard coming at a stop sign...then all of a sudden my brake pedal just got really hard and wouldn't brake anymore. I then just pulled up my e-brake at about 15 mph and my car started braking...stopped right in the center of the intersection. Luckily not a lot of cars. Anyhow whenever I step on my brakes my rpm would drop and stumble at low rpms like the engine is gonna die. I'm sure my brakes are locked...know how to unlock them?

If you're pushing on the brake pedal and the car dies, it makes me think the hose from the brake booster has a crack or something, causing a vacuum leak and killing your engine. A hard pedal would also be the brakes without the booster.

Check the hose going from the brake booster to the intake manifold for cracks and replace if necessary.
