I would like some opinions on the following subjects, I know there is worlds of info to be found 'round the internet, but I figure I'd rather get it firsthand from people I know.

1) Normal, solid brake rotors: Nascar uses them, they come stock on all cars, do they offer the best bang for the buck? Due ot the ability to turn them easily, etc, does this make it the best way to go.

2) Vented Rotors: They seem to offer structural rigidity, while providing the theoretical "venting" of built up brake gasses. However, they can't be turned, does this not have a drastic effect on cost?

3) Cross-drilled/Vented Rotors: These also seem like they would provide superior cooling, but I question the structural rigidity. Also, you can't turn them, and they're more expensive. Is it just looks that makes these so popular?Which do you prefer?

I also ask those questions myself.
