Hey guys - I just put some new rims / tires on my Q and the car seems to be veering to the right slightly, and a little more when I hit the brakes...I was told that the wheels were balanced and ready to go - could they have gotten out of balance when shipped. Could I possibly need a new alignment with the new rims? Thanks for any input -Chaz

Did you torque the lug nuts properly and evenly (about 80 ft-lbs as I recall)? You may have tightened the lug nuts on one side enough to twist the rotors a bit. Unlikely, but possible.

My experience has been that imbalance (although you did not see loose weights in the box, right?) tends to cause vibration, not pulling to one side ...

Try switching tires front to back, see if the problem goes away...

You may have the odd radial tire pull, or you may have tires that are actually following the road crown.

What wheels and tires did you install??

I put 350Z rims with Potenza's on the Q. 225/50/17 on the front and 235/50/17's on the rear. I didn't see any weights that fell off in the packaging, I looked thoroughly...not positive about the torque on each I think that I'm gonna go get the tires balanced and maybe an alignment - hadn't had an align. done in almost 15k miles..ThanksChaz

Eh, now I remember your other posts....duh:)

UHP tires possibly are tram lining as some call it, or just following the road crown, which can pull the car to the right....getting the alignment will eliminate one possible cause, and may alert you to other problems that may not have been obvious with less responsive tires.

That's the real downside to getting super responsive tires.. they let you know just how bad the local roads are! After so long driving is perfect isolation, or close to it, we're hit with harsh ride, noisy tires, and odd handling quirks. More compromises to make. Ugh.
