i have a 96 240sx and i got r32 brakes on it. I ordered the conversion lines but, I was also told that i will need a 300zx brake master cylinder . now my question is does it have to be the twin turbo 300zx and what year?

The pedal feel on the 240 is weak with the stock brakes, but feels even worse with the 300ZX conversion.

You can use a master cylinder from any 1990-1996 300ZX, turbo or non-turbo and it doesn't have to be from a twin turbo 300ZX.

What kind of pedal feel are you referring to. I have Z32 TT 30mm Alum calipers with C/S rotors up front and stock calipers with C/S rotors out back.

Pedal feel for seems disconnected but the car stops f*ckin fast and no matter how hard I mash the brakes I can't get the calipers to lock. I wonder if the fact I have a MC brace matters.

now that we are on the topic,

in my new (to me) 1993 240 sx, when i got it the brakes were too low and i felt that it didn't brake right,

so i got hawk HPS pads, new slotted rotors and stainless brake lines.after everything is installed, and broken in. i slam on the brakes and the wheels do not lock. I am not getting full brake pressure.

is it normal, or do i need to repalce the master cylinder?

thanks for the help.

Make sure they're bled properly and done well. Start at the passenger rear wheel, move to the drivers rear wheel, passenger front, drivers front. Ensure you never allow the fluid to get low in the reservoir when bleeding.

Replacing the master cylinder isn't a real common issue, but it happens.
