BRAKEMOTIVE ON SALE ACTUAL PICTURES AFTER 20K MILES

I was at the dealer for an oil/filter change on my 09 M35. After the inspection, every item was ticked in the green column. (green = fine / yellow = repair soon / red = repair now). Turns out my brakes were just barely in the green zone and my service rep told me by the next oil change brakes will probably be in the yellow zone. That got me to thinking about getting another Brakemotive kit that lots of us here have been using for years. I bought a set through Ebay and found them on offer for 30% off !!!! For $180 you get 4 new rotors, and new brakes for all 4 wheels.

The reason I'm posting is to let us know that a deal is offered right now, and also because whilst in the customer lounge, having my cuppa tea, the brake pricing was on their service monitor.

Replacing the brake shoes and rotors costs $595 per axle = $1,190.00.
Infiniti charges me about $150 to install my brakemotive kit making my total cost less than $250.00 for 4 new high quality rotors and new squeak-free brake brake pads. That's over $900 savings.
I have been using brakenmotive without a single issue on my 07 and 09 M35 (three kits so far) and I'm sure the other members who use them also speak very highly of them.

Any pushback from Infiniti dealer for installing parts? Do they claim no guarantee because its not OEM, etc.? I bought a kit a while back and its sitting in my basement just waiting until its needed. For $150 I'll have the dealer install.

I agree. It's too much bother to install at home. As for my dealer, they stand behind the installation should anything go wrong, but the parts are warrantied only by Brakemotive.
My dealer has installed other items for me that did not come out of their parts dept: Osram headlamps, rear spoiler, etc and they don't balk at me supplying my own oil for oil / filter changes. I suppose every dealer is a little different. Mine tells me what the labor charge will be and if I agree, they do the work. They even gave me a loaner car when they did my brakes since the wait was going to be a few hours due to a busy day there. I think if your dealer sees you regularly (and get to charge you money regularly like oil changes, fluid changes etc) they are more likely to cooperate with you and take care of you.

I get my rotors (Centric) from Tire Rack, and the dealer installs them for me without any fuss (since I use OEM pads, I get those from the dealer) ...

Of course, this is my third Infiniti from this dealer (first Q45 was purchased in March 1991) and the Service Consultant has been with them for more than 17 or 18 years now.

thanks for the follow-up. I do go regularly to my Infiniti dealer and have been very satisfied with the service so when its time for the brake job, I'll pursue it with them.

The last owner had the brakes done at an incompetent dealer. The pads are new, but installed incorrectly, and they did not resurface the rotors (brake shake at higher speeds). Im thinking of having my mechanic install this set, instead of paying for re-installation and rotor surfacing.

The brake parts that seem to go first on M35's are the rear brake pads. Mine needed replacing after about 50K miles. I just did the whole set at that time and was glad that I did. I had a frozen caliper pin on one of the front brakes. Honestly, the original Brakemotive rotors looked fine, I just replaced them with the new set. It was much easier the 2nd time. I spent a good hour pounding on the OEM rotors to loosen them up as they were frozen on. The Brakemotive ones came off with ease.

I haven't had to replace mine yet on the 09. I have about 15,000 miles on them and the pads are still fine. On the 07 I believe that the pads lasted about 35,000 miles. I didn't replace the pads because for the price of a brake job on one axle, I bought a new set of Brakemotive rotors and pads for all 4 wheels and got 100% new brakes on all 4 wheels.

35k isn't bad. I just want to be clear, they fit as OEM correct? No modification or extra spacers/parts required?

How would you rate the brake dust, compared to OEM or say a Hawk brand (if you have experience)?

Last question, do they seem to wear well? No extra unevenness or anything?

I, personally see less brake dust then with OEM, but that is relative to how we drive and stop. The kit comes with all sorts of spacers, etc but none were needed on my 07 or 09 when I had mine installed - they went right on like OEM. Long as your car is aligned, tires are balanced with propoer inflation, no signs of uneven wear on the pads or the rotors at 35,000 miles on my 07.
Even the mechanic at my dealer said he considered the rotors and pads to be high quality and nicely made. He was curious what I paid for them, thinking they were an expensive modification over OEM. When I told him the price hes was like: NO, I meant for everything - rotors, pads, the install kit supplies. He was very impressed.
NOTE: Because these are slotted / drilled rotors, they may feel a bit different under braking and you can feel the pads grabbing on the rotors braking from high speeds quickly in your left foot. I rather like how they feel. In Florida, the streets become small streams with rain and these have never failed to stop me straight and quicker than OEM did.

I bought a set as soon as I read this Monday .. Checked and tracking said they'll be here today sometime . Quick delivery probably gonna throw them on today . Having an issue with a stuck caliper in the rear . Hoping it isn't too bad to get that fixed and figured I would throw on a fresh set while I have it on the lift. Thanks for the post about the sale. Never used this brand but seems everyone likes them .

Brakemotive. On my 07 and no noise. No brake dust. Confident stopping during panic stops. No vibrations and great pedal feel in rain or shine. I installed one axle first then the other axle about a year later. Still running great with 99k on odometer

Almost ready to get this but want to make fully sure, since I only got the pads last time. It does say in the description 06-10 M35 and M45 but does that include the Xs? Is there a difference between the models?

So you guys really swear by these? How are the rotors for rust after a while? Price seems almost too good to be true.

On the sets I have used, I noticed a rust-like appearance on the area of the rotor where the brake pads grab if the car sits for a few days, but that disappears soon as it is driven. I guess the pads clean it off during braking. The rest of the rotor has never rusted. I took these pictures about 10 minutes ago. It's also worth noting that I have MGP aluminum caliper covers which greatly reduce brake dust and keep the rotors cooler. I don't know if these covers could be contributing to the rotor and hub staying so clean. After about 20,000 miles, without cleaning the wheels, this is what they look like:

Still inconclusive, unfortunately for M45Xs. Once I put it in the list of compatible vehicles, 2010 M45X is listed as not compatible. Not sure, however, if there actually is a difference in the brake systems between the vehicles.
