My fiancee and I are having issues with the brakes on her 04 sedan. I will first note that we are located 800 miles apart and she has a lot of wrenching experience dating back to her childhood and working on pull-trucks and stock cars, so she knows her way around a vehicle. I'm going off of what she's told me...
She has replaced the front and rear pads within the past month, and now is having to replace the rears again. This will be the third time in the year we've had the car for the rears, and she's done the fronts twice now. When she changed out the front pads last, she had all three of the magical lights on the dash and when she took everything apart, found one of the pads in two pieces!

We've done a lot of reading about the brake issues on the earlier years of these cars, but less than a month for this set of pads is just INSANE!!!!! We're now wondering if we should be looking into changing out the rear calipers or perhaps even the master cylinder, or if there could be a larger issue looming. If anyone has ANY ideas or suggestions of where to start, it would be greatly appreciated. The ONLY Infiniti dealership in her state is an hour and a half away from her, and we really don't want to deal with them if possible, and she's got one of a handful of the make in her immediate area, so not many of the local backyard mechanics want to even touch the car.
On an aside note, can someone tell me the thicknesses of the rotors and minimal numbers so I can have her measure those too to make sure they're still ok? TIA
